| 32233 | 2002-01-21 11:34:00 | when i look at the list of irqs there are two things i don't understand. the first is 'IRQ holder for PCI steering' when i looked this up it said that it means a PCI device can be used on that the second is 'programmable interrupt controller' am i right in guessing that one is free to be used? cheers |

| 32234 | 2002-01-21 22:16:00 | Yes, the IRQ holder for PCI steering is something that allows more than one hardware component to share an IRQ address. For example on my computer I have Soundcard, Graphics card, and Modem all sharing IRQ 10, without the IRQ holder this would be impossible as the CPU wouldnt know which component sent the IRQ. | Guest (0) | ||
