32553 2002-01-24 03:08:00 Hi. How do I remove the option to 'Log Off' out of the Start Menu in Windows 98 without having to install something like TweakUI or similar. Is there a registry hack I could try or something? thanks, Bob. Guest (0)
32554 2002-01-24 04:51:00 Yes, there is a registry entry that allows you to take that option off. Can't rember the exact entry though :(
I must have read either here at F1 or somewhere else. Hope I can find it soon for you.

Perhaps the regulars have better memory than me?

if its not there, add a DWORD Value called 'StartMenuLogoff' and set the value to '0' (or 0x00000000)

This should remove it for you (it works in WinME anyway)

32556 2002-01-24 07:09:00 doesn't work, Mike. any other suggestions anybody? Guest (0)
32557 2002-01-29 10:35:00 There's a great little shareware app called 'Start Menu Console Editor' that lets u do *heaps* of that sort of stuff. I used it to remove various none needed stuff, until I got XP, and then Linux :) Guest (0)
