| 1288464 | 2012-07-14 03:21:00 | Hi Guys I am on Windows 7 I am using Avira, but am getting very annoyed with their daily spam. So I am thinking of giving in and using Windows Defender. What is the concensus on it these days ? |

It's passable at what it does but not spectacular, defender is an antimalware tool not an antivirus. If you install MSE it takes over from defender and disables it but is also an anti-virus so it does both jobs. It still pays to use other antimalware tools as well. I use MSE and MBAM and occasionally scan with Spybot or Super anti spyware as well. |
