1265373	2012-03-15 21:17:00	Every Otago Daily Times (www.odt.co.nz) issue has an article in it taken from the newspaper 100 years ago to the day ... Not sure if other papers around the country do the same but thought I'd post one on here to see if anyone would like me to continue posting them. The first article is a bit dry ... even though it's about the wet. The second to last paragraph is still true today ... we protect or fruit down here ... :D	SP8's (9836)

1265375	2012-03-16 00:56:00	The hatpin nuisance appears to have been especially acute amongst the crowd at the Garden Fete on Tuesday night. Two young men were struck in the eye, one so badly that he had to leave the ground in consequence, and a well-known gentleman had his neck punctured to the extent of fully a quarter of an inch, while an elderly lady had her face badly scratched. In each case the victims were made to realise most pointedly the dangers of these modern adjuncts to feminine headgear, and it looks as though some steps should be taken to abate the hatpin nuisance before a serious mishap occurs.	pctek (84)

1265377	2012-03-16 03:47:00	I seem to remember my mother telling me about some woman that used to go 'round sticking her hatpin into the base of peoples heads from behind, up into the brain, to kill the person .... I can't recall whether this happened in New Zealand or England .... Still have some of the hatpins in an old leather hat-box once owned by my grandmother ... so watchit ... :devil:	SP8's (9836)
