1265266 2012-03-19 17:49:00 Is it really of any concern what an MP's sexual preference is? I couldn't give a **** if they are gay straight or whatever. As long as they do their job who cares.
Well it concerns me, So I can either vote for someone else or not vote at all. Its my right not to vote for a male homosexual.
No problems with a lesbian politician though, thought of their activities turns me on.:p

Kind of a double standard that isn't it.

You have every right to ask when they are campaigning for votes. Not after they are elected .
They have every right not to answer

Wouldnt you be more concerned with their abilities, isnt anything else irrelevant ??

You don't seem to understand that who they are is going to affect what agendas they are going to push because we have seen with the TPPA that they aren't necessarily working for us as they should.

No, the rules are in NZ law. Its their job, you cant ask once they are effectively employed

What about straight MP's who dont have gay phobia's ?? They would vote along the same lines as Gay MP's .
You really only have a choice of 1 sitting Govt party for an anti-gay choice (if you want to vote that way)

Not sure what the TPPA has to do with gays in parliament

We are not by contract their eployerer, we elected them to that position, and we can ask any question we like, There are certainly no laws governing this and so there shouldn't be, This isn't Russia.

if a person doesn't want their bussiness and agenda under scutiny from the public then its simple, don't get a job in the public arena. Lets not pretend for a second that once elected what they do is nobodies bussiness.

You seem to have gay on the brain as that comment was more about politicians in general
