1265236 2012-03-18 19:02:00 You DO choose to be a poofter. And once again, the small anti-homosexual percentage here are called homophobes and bigot's for not tolerating the disgusting bastards.

I've found over the years people can be overly forceful with their views when they think they may be something they're afraid of or their families find unacceptable. Denial in otherwords. Not saying this is the case here of course, just saying what I've seen over the years

I must say I've been pretty gobsmacked by the numbers of high-profile, supposedly "pro-family-values" crusading politicians/religious leaders who have later been caught with their pants down with rent boys/other peoples' wives/etc. Hilarious (although usually pretty sad for the families), & it does make you ask questions of whoever anyone else voices similar strident anti-this-or-that views...

Back to the OP, though: just because you employ someone to do a job, it doesn't entitle you to know intimate details of their love lives. Like we'd all be comfortable being required by our bosses to give up details of stuff we might enjoy in the privacy of your own home, just so your employer could decide on what "sort" of employee you might be & fire you if you didn't conform to their idea of "normal". Sure, MP's sometimes say/do stupid stuff, but there's always election day there to sort them out if they make a habit of it.

Some people choose to be gay, others are born gay.

I disagree with you and will refer you to post #33 that I made.

They are not but supposedly they are meant to be the cream of our society and they represent us in the eyes of the world so we should know everything about them.
Referring back to the days of the cold war there would be plenty of pickings for the Russians these days.

Actually I agree with MushHead on this one, politics is a job like any other, why should we need to know their private details when no one else in other jobs have to say anything? And if they're representing the country then even more reason not to discriminate.

Because we elect them them and pay for them that gives us the voter every right in the world to know absolutely every detail about them and then some.
If they dont want the exposure they dont have to stand for public office.
