2012-07-18 06:04:00 | Hi..I am looking at three different laptops that are on special at Dick Smiths and Noel Leaming at the moment to replace my aging Asus that I have had for a few years...I just use it for general stuff..photos..a bit of music..little gaming..web browsing..emails 1.Toshiba 15.6" 2.5ghz 2nd generation intel core processor 500gb 4gb ram 1gbdedicated graphics $ 999 2.Asus 15.6" 2.4ghz core i3 processor 320gb 4Ggb ram(upgraded to 8gb) $799 3.Toshiba 15.6" 1.7Ghz 320 gb E2 processor 4gb ram $699 I know that (1.Toshiba..) is the better specs option but how much different are 2 and 3..I have been warned to stay away from Hp and Compaq. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you :clap

2012-07-18 06:13:00 | Personally, spend the difference and go for the i5 (choice 1) $999 is worth it and you shouldnt (hopefully) have any problems with Toshiba. | Iantech (16386) | |
2012-07-18 06:13:00 | You will find than the no.2 is far superior to no.3. But, no.1 is better. However you might find you won't need all the power it has to suit your needs. Can you define light gaming please? | Nick G (16709) | |

2012-07-18 09:22:00 | I have had excellent results with HP machines - especially in the laptop department, seems odd that you were recommended to stay away... I'd definitely agree with Iantech - spend a bit more, $999 is cheap for a good laptop and you won't regret having the i5 as time goes on.

Thats standard fare around here, The lower end HP's aren't well regarded, while the Pro series are, However that's two different price points and levels of quality. |
