Loooong hours, hot exhaust, louder than anything you have ever heard in your life (trust me on that one) and danger everywhere. Why not do vertical takeoffs, e.g with british harriers type jets, or a twin lower/upper deck partioned horizontal runaway to simplify and speed things up.
