| 1265051 | 2012-03-14 23:47:00 | The new new give rule comes into effect soon. It seems to me that far too many drivers just ignored the old road rules anyway, failed to give way and just plowed on through. So whats the point of new rules when its blatantly obvious even the old rules weren't being followed. And anyone who honestly cant understand the new rule shouldn't be allowed on the roads. I suspect they would fail miserably if forced to resit their drivers license (practical & written) . This is how you reduce road accidents..not with a simple road rule change -Drivers must to resit their license after 5 or 10 years : this would weed out many bad drivers & bad habits. -Any minor infringement also results in being forced to resit the licence :eg causing a nose to tail (or any) accident, running red light, driving a car with expired WOF , towing a trailer without a WOF or lights, using a mobile or reading when driving .( Yes, I still see drivers blatantly reading when driving ) ... thus making it really inconvenient by forcing a re-license for those getting caught .That would be more of a deterrent than a fine. |

I would add to the "Thou Shalt Not" list, Remmers mums applying their war paint, or doing the final touches to their hair. And Westy chicks :devil Runs for cover   |

Most people study the road code verbatim so that they can pass their test for a driving licence. Once they have passed and obtained their driving licence they do not bother to read the road code again. |

| 1265054 | 2012-03-15 03:43:00 | And how are you going to know which motorists DO HAVE a legit drivers licence??? Are you going to tattoo them on their foreheads? :( The idiots will still get behind the steering wheel and they will still be menaces on the road no matter what tests you apply. |

It's a shame what the forum is turning into. |
