| 33043 | 2002-01-27 04:13:00 | Computer wont even get to bios screen! argh Hi. Was going to format a mates computer, so I stuck a network card in to it to save his files. All went well. I installed it, rebooted, set up the network, rebooted, and it saw the network. I then restarted once more for an unknown reason, it then came up with a dos screen b4 windows which said i think (ACPI 9) or something like that. It froze, so i reset, got to windows loading screen and froze, reset, from then on it wont even get to a BIOS screen, no testing ram nothing, blank screen, no harddrive activity. it makes a 'beep-barrp' noise and stops. Please help, what does 'beep-barrp' mean? Im not a newb by ne means, just stuck. Thanks in advance |

| 33044 | 2002-01-27 05:19:00 | On start up all the hardware is checked. As each bit gets checked a beep occurs to show it's successful. The barp must mean a fail. Start by taking out the network card to see if that's what it failed on. |

| 33046 | 2002-01-27 09:40:00 | i know i know, this computer is the biggest pain in the arse. blue screens are common. so this dude formatted it for him with the drive in his machine, then moved it once he had loaded stuff. and it was nailed, and i said it was because it was done in his machine, **** i changed an unstable comp to one that doesnt work at all. And i was working, and it just suddenly quite for no reason, i feel so emabarrased, and if the motherboard is dead like i think it is, then im in the poo argh, last time i do ne crap like that. | Guest (0) | ||
