32892 2002-01-26 05:39:00 In Win9x go, |Start|Run| the type in winipcfg then hit <enter> that will show you what your IP adress is.

32893 2002-01-26 05:45:00 There are other methods depending on what operating system you are using, but one of the easiest ways is to connect to the internet and then using your browser go to:

http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/

and it will tell you.

32894 2002-01-26 06:02:00 I just came back from www.whatismyipaddress.com and I think it reported the gateway and not my actual IP Address.

In Win2k go Start|Run type cmd then type ipconfig/all

In XP you can do the above mentioned for Win2k or you right click on your connection|status then details and the client IP is your IP.

32895 2002-01-26 08:08:00 Hi. Have just read this query and the comments. Tried the Start/Run and typed in ipconfig and something flashed up on screen but didn`t stay on long enough to read. Any suggestions. I`m running Windows 98SE Guest (0)
32896 2002-01-26 08:19:00 ipconfig is a DOS command.... so.... you need to open DOS first.

Start Run type 'command' (without quotes) then at the DOS prompt type ipconfig

To exit DOS type 'exit' (again without the quotes)

32897 2002-01-26 09:16:00 Try installing IP_agent.exe available from Gibson Research which will give you an instant answer and also give you the opportunity to test your security. Guest (0)

32900 2002-01-28 06:14:00 Still no luck with www.astalavista.com

Just wondering, does it report your guys IP addresses ok?

It still reports what I think is the gateway but not my IP. GRC picks it up but that could be a result of it being connected over a secure socket or reported from the server I connected to.
