32919 2002-01-26 08:58:00 I have just purchase a Dell P4 1.8Ghz machine with Windows XP Home Edition. I have installed MS Office 97 Professional minus Word and Outlook as I have later version with the computer. Excel and Powerpoint work but when I try to start Access I get a message 'Microsoft Access can't start because there is no license for it on this machine'. Can anyone advise how I overcome this. The software is licensed to me.

Thanks

32920 2002-01-26 09:47:00 Hi Nigel,

Try going to the following link and download the AcLinc97.exe file...

support.microsoft.com

I had the same problem before I upgarded to 2000. Wish I had know about this site back then.

Good Luck.

32921 2002-01-27 03:26:00 Thanks Kerry - The AcLinc97.exe program didn't work but the information on the site about changing the hatten.ttf file did, problem solved.

Thanks

32923 2002-10-02 04:00:00 Hi Nigel

Realise that this is a while back but when right clicking the hatten.ttf file, renaming is greyed out. How did you get around this?

Thanks Blair

32924 2002-10-02 04:12:00 You can try this registry fix for this problem. BUT!! I have not tried it in Windows XP yet!
Copy & Paste the follwing into notepad and then save as any name but make the extension .reg

I managed to get around it by moving hatten.ttf to another location , doing the reistall of Access 97 and then moving hatten.ttf back again.
