32933 2002-01-26 08:08:00 It looks like I stired up a hornets nest.To get my point across I am an average PC user and self taught on computers. I realise there are people out there who are beginers, average and Wiz's. This was only intended to help people like myself who is on a benifit to obtain and try these programs for free that I came across. I am not a person who likes to use a credit card over the Internet.
I am not anyone else who replied to previous comments.

32935 2002-01-26 11:28:00 Hi Laurie,

I know how you feel re credit cards on the net, cheap software etc... I'm fully behind open source too. It can do anything you can on as OS you would pay $400 for (like XP pro) except for some game titles, anything else is catered for, or can be emulated if you absolutely have to have something. Besides, it is rock solid, I've never had my copy of mandrake crash except when I've downloaded something not considered a 'stable release'...

go for it!

32936 2002-01-27 00:12:00 Hi Laurie

Have now regidtered freshdownload and will give it a whirl. My comments on the earlier post were simply observations and wern't intended to offend. Thought something had slipped past my firewall.
I was interested enough in the inforamation you gave to try it so your post did the trick for me, as they say nothing ventured nothing gained.
Keep it up, i'm certainly not put off trying yours or anyone elses suggestions/help.

PS. I,m also self taught and not very well at that, which is why I reckon this site is great. Now for a big fat file to download got any suggestions? :)
