| 33279 | 2002-01-28 12:34:00 | I am currently having problems with 2 games, Star Trek Armarda 1 & 2. For some reason these two games both seem to crash, and come back to the desktop in the middle of a game. It just seems to happen at random. This was happening while I was running Windows 98, but I have formatted my computer since then and am now running Win XP Pro. Still the same things happen. It's even worse when running STA 2, as sometimes it crashes and doesn't even go to the Desktop, it just gives me this blue screen that says windows has shut down to protect my computer and is dumping memory. In the end I have to turn off my comp completely. I have tried running both games under various compatibility modes and they make the game even worse. I have tried the STA1 patch and the same things happen, and as yet there is no STA 2 patch. I think the problem may lie with my 64MB Geforce 2 MX 400 video card, as some of the errors mention that and suggest getting a driver update. I have already tried this, and still the same crashes happen. I don't run any programs while I am playing these games, and have tried everything I can think of. Has anybody had any experiences like me? My computer specs are: Pentium 4 1.6Ghz, 64MB Geforce 2 MX 400 Vid card, 512 MB DDR RAM, 40 GB HD, Win XP PRO. |
