33179 2002-01-28 00:55:00 Hi everyone,

I am thinking of buying an i4Free connection on Trademe, and was wondering if anyone was having problems with it?

Regards, ALAN :-)

Get a zFree if you can. They're still pretty good.

33182 2002-01-28 02:09:00 LOL John..... I had been advised to steer away from i4Free, and will take your advice. Will try a get a ZFree account (so I can save up for a ADSL modem)

33183 2002-01-28 02:38:00 Why would you want to buy a lousy connection? I used to use them and zfree before I went Jetstart.

Paradise.net will give you 250 hours/4 weeks for $10.00 and much better tech support and a better connection.

33185 2002-01-28 06:16:00 Hi Alan.

I use both i4free and zfree. i4free is my default email account and zfree for surfing. No problems with i4free, just a bit slow. They diverted some of their resources to their pay service: slingshot.co.nz when the arrangement they had fell through. Zfree goes fine, no probs. About them shutting down? Not sure. They might just limit the number of connections. If you can get a zfree connection cheap, then I say 'Go for it.' Even if they do shut down in the future, its free till then.

Cheers.

33186 2002-01-28 10:31:00 I use Zfree, works fine for me. How much would you be looking at spending on a connection? I've heard that they go for $200 sometimes and can't help but think how one could have a flat rate account for the year at that price anyway.
