33166 2002-01-27 23:53:00 I've just downloaded a live version of a song I adore and it has a good 10 - 15 seconds worth of crowd mutterings (including a few rude words that make it impossible for me to play while my son is in the room). Does anyone know how I can edit this song & cut off the chatting? Guest (0)

If the bits you want to get rid of are throughout the song you'll first have to convert the song to .wav format and then use a .wav file editor - look around download.com or similar.

33168 2002-01-28 20:19:00 Just gone through a bout of MP3 fiddling and I used the following:
MP3 Trim
Manns MP3 edit
Do a search on Google for them.
The other method is to convert them to a WAV file then edit them with a Wave editor. I'm no expert in this field (or any other, if I'm honest) but a bit of playing around will get the results you need. I have downloaded music from WinMx and wanted to remove some intros to songs as well as clicks and pops. The 2 MP3 editors do the start/finish well but to get the most accurate results I had to convert to a Wav file. I think converting to Wav then encoding back to a MP3 will loose some quality but I was making a playlist for an outdoor party - MP3-palyed on PC - stereo, and it sounded fine for all the party-goers. Perhaps not hi-fi but pretty good. I have several Wave editors that come with different programs but found the one that was best to be the Creative Wave Studio that came with my soundcard.
