| 33166 | 2002-01-27 23:53:00 | I've just downloaded a live version of a song I adore and it has a good 10 - 15 seconds worth of crowd mutterings (including a few rude words that make it impossible for me to play while my son is in the room). Does anyone know how I can edit this song & cut off the chatting? | Guest (0) | ||

The other method is to convert them to a WAV file then edit them with a Wave editor. I'm no expert in this field (or any other, if I'm honest) but a bit of playing around will get the results you need. I have downloaded music from WinMx and wanted to remove some intros to songs as well as clicks and pops. The 2 MP3 editors do the start/finish well but to get the most accurate results I had to convert to a Wav file. I think converting to Wav then encoding back to a MP3 will loose some quality but I was making a playlist for an outdoor party - MP3-palyed on PC - stereo, and it sounded fine for all the party-goers. Perhaps not hi-fi but pretty good. I have several Wave editors that come with different programs but found the one that was best to be the Creative Wave Studio that came with my soundcard. |
