| 33366 | 2002-01-29 08:11:00 | I agree zonealarm is a good firewall but I have been trying out a new firewall from agnitum which is also free. Its called outpost and not just does the same job as zonealarm but also has a very effective ad blocker. It even got the ads inside morpheus which many speciallised adblockers failed to do. As for your anti virus I use norton myself. It does cost but has rated highly in most tests and with AV you cant be too careful. Another thing to get yourself is a trojan hunter. This compliments your anti virus as many do only an average job of detecting trojans themselves. Agnitum also do a trojan hunter but only as trial ware. www.agnitum.com |

| 33370 | 2002-01-29 08:39:00 | High Chris I,m also trying out Outpost firewall seems to be running fine, no conflicts. You can download free or pro (pay) at www.agnitum.com credit for info should go to an earlier post from Laurie K. I also use Inoculateit Personal which is a great little anti virus program which does not seem to cause as many problems with win or other progs as some. (I gave up Nortons in favour some time ago). I think you can get it off one of the PC World NZ CDs. I got mine from Computer Associates International. Have a look around try some for yourself and see how they react with your setup. Back up first of course. Have fun Murray |

| 33372 | 2002-01-29 11:21:00 | I agree with Dipstick.... the Outpost firewall seems to work really well. I have run ZoneAlarm in the past, but Outpost seems superior to me... Regards, ALAN :-) |
