33496	2002-01-30 04:22:00	Hi, After finding that opera was unsuitable as a browser to open URLS from my emails, I switched back (through file associations under command centre) to konqueror again. Konqueror doesn't work anymore, when I click on my URLs or when I select it from the KDE Menu... How do I get it working again?? :) Thanks the FAT man	Guest (0)
33497	2002-01-30 05:02:00	I think you might have dropped an insignificant thing off the command centre setting for it. It's something like 'opera %' inside that window. I forget what the character is -- look at any other association's entry to check. It means roughly 'run this program, on the argument I'm calling you with'. Hve you got Susan sorted out?	Guest (0)

33499	2002-01-30 05:13:00	Hi, Nothing there that I could find, and it doesn't explain why it doesn't work under the KDe menu either. It works if I click on it's exe (yeah it's in /usr/bin/ too, and I didn't put it there, mandrake did, are you sure /usr/bin/ is not the right place, because just about everything is in there...). And it works if I open it by quick browser, or as home directory, or anywhere else where it needs to surf my own hard drive... Any ideas? Re-install? :) the FAT man	Guest (0)
33500	2002-01-30 05:39:00	/usr/bin is for commands/programmes which are considered as part of the system. Opera could be elsewhere, but would be OK in /usr/bin. Games should not be there. Its just the principle of keeping the system separate from applications. Star Office will not install there. But that's not getting konqueror going. Clicking on its code will start it. Clicking on a file which needs the programme means that the system has to generate a 'command' like 'konqueror filename.html', so that you get the file displayed. That mime.types file we accessed must have that special character following the programme name, to do that. I have an idea it is '%', but not sure. There has to be a space between the 'r' and it of course ... Not starting from the KDE menu ... That entry should not have been affected. You could try removing it from the menu, then adding it again. Then shut down KDE with the 'save' option of course ... I like command line.	Guest (0)
