| 33431 | 2002-01-30 05:27:00 | I found a file called Boot.ini.backup in the C:\Winnt\pss\ folder and copied to the root of my boot disk. I then renamed it to 'boot.ini'. When I reboot, the 'Invalid boot.ini file' error has gone and everything seems to be OK except the three short cut icons, namely, show desktop,Internet Explorer and Outlook Express icons are missing from the task bar. How do I restore those missing short cut icons? Cheers bk |

Perhaps the info. might help in solving this problem for 2000 too. I came across this forum when I started getting an invalid boot.ini message for my windows xp pro. I fixed this problem for XP. A description of how I fixed this is located here. Maybe it will work for Win 2000 too, since the OS's are quite similar. www.computing.net Hope this helps |
