I've done something to the 'my computer' tab, now when right clicking on it, and going to properties I only get two tabs (General and performance) the system devices is gone, it is also gone from the control pannel. Anyone have any ideas where it's gone, even microsoft dont know, I have reloaded windows over the top of the old one, but no help. I dont want to reformat and start again. I am running windows 98
on a PIII 1GHZ with 512MB SDRAM. Any help would be appreciated |

Have you been playing around with Policy Editor as with that you can set security and disable the other pages or maybe it is another program you have installed that can alter registry settings. |

Could have done, where is the policy editor on win98, only new programme that i am running that edits the registry is 'System Mechanic' other than that I'm still lost, thankyou for your reply Mike |

Policy Editor used to be an extra on the Win95 cd. Not sure of Win98 though. Policy Editor did not show up in the installation you had to install it manualy. |
