| 33411 | 2002-01-29 09:36:00 | When I open Microsoft Internet Explorer either from the desktop or from the toolbar, an error message pops up. The window is titled 'Microsoft Internet Explorer' and it reads ... Cannot find 'file:///C:WINDOWS/SYSTEM/SWPortal.html'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct. I keep having to change the home page website address and this is a temporary fix to the problem because when the PC is restarted after downloads of turned off, the problems starts all over again. I have tried a number times to repair Internet Explorer and the same problems keeps happening. I have even restored the Internet Explorer back to its original setting which was 5 and then I downloaded IE 6. This only happened when I have had IE 6 after a little while but I'm determined this is not the reason. What I think the reason is is maybe a file is missing like the error message suggests. What can be done to reftify this problem? Some important info for your information: OS: Windows 98 Version of Internet Explorer I'm using: 6 Do I have Nortons AntiVirus or any of their software? No |
