You lose some of the custom drivers but updated ones can be downloaded (just download the modem one before you kill the existing OS). Compaq's (and other brands) come with an OSD (Oh ****! Disk) for rebuilding the machine to factory condition. This is a fallback, isn't always desirable. robo. |
