The package provides a simple one off install of all the security updates that have been released for Windows 2000 since Service Pack 2 (SP2). Still with Microsoft, and they have released a patch for Windows XP to fix issues people have with burning data CD's. This patch reportedly fixes issues with errors occurring when you copy files or folders to a compact disc-recordable (CD-R) or a compact disc-rewritable (CD-RW). Errors may include inconsistent disc recording and only being able to read the disc its entirety using Windows XP. Microsoft have also posted a Knowledge Base article on How to prevent Windows Messenger from running.support.microsoft.com By default, Windows Messenger is installed by Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home Edition, and the user interface does not provide a way to remove or to uninstall Windows Messenger. The article describes, how to disable Messenger for the following situations:
- Messenger 4.0 or later in Windows XP Pro (uses the Group Policy snap-in)
- Messenger 4.0 on Windows XP Home (via Messenger itself)
- Messenger 4.5 or later in Windows XP Pro or Home (via the 'PreventRun' key in the registry)

NVmax v4.00.31 has been released with the following new stuff:
All reported issues have been addressed with this release... but NVIDIA changed code in 27.xx on W98/ME and this has disabled some features of NVmax. This problem is being sorted. Otherwise, this release looks near perfect (fingers crossed).

A new version of the Microsoft BootVis Tool has been released. BootVis helps your PC boot to a useable state in a total of 30 seconds, resume from Hibernate (S4) in a total of 20 seconds and resume from Standby (S3) in a total of 5 seconds.
