| 33692 | 2002-01-31 05:26:00 | i have win98 installed and win2000 installed on a different partition. The problem is when i shut down from win2000 i have an added step of having to shut it off by pushing the on/off button, where as on win98 it automatically shuts down without the need to use the on/off button. If i enable APM in win2000 it reboots itself when i shut it down. Any ideas? | Guest (0) | ||

I'm doing this from memory so bare with me. right-click on your desktop|properties|Screen Saver|Power and from here I don't know but there should be APM or something and you click on a checkbox that tells it to shutdown automatically or something along the lines of that. |

| 33696 | 2002-01-31 10:30:00 | Hi I had the same problem when I upgraded to Win2K about a year ago. Try the following (I can't remember exactly): 1. Check your motherboard's manufacturer and download the relevant BIOS update (check the description of the BIOS update details before downloading). Follow instructions to flash your BIOS. 2. Go to Windows product update and download device drivers, if any. Good luck bk |
