| 33629 | 2002-01-30 22:44:00 | For those of you considering upgrading to XP, I discovered that any Norton product that isn't a '2002' release is now redundant. Having purchased SystemWorks 2000 only a year ago, I now have to fork out another $122.00 to 'upgrade' to a version compatible with XP. Are any alternatives worth considering?. The XP compatibility seacrh engine is partly to blame- it only says when things are compatible, not that they aren't. |

It was a mature installation in a commercial environment but took 15 minutes for the resident IT expert to change the vertical and horizontal refresh rates temporarily and then to change them back, a task you can do in seconds on Bill's fine products. It looked for all the world like a throwback to UNIX or DOS complete with heaps of command line work. Might put off being a late adopter for a while and become a a Linux Luddite instead! Cheers Billy ?-{) |
