| 33684 | 2002-01-31 05:15:00 | I have Windows ME I wish to do an advanced disk check, but my virus protection programme keeps speaking to the c drive and preventing the check from happening. Other Virus protection programmes have a 'disable' feature but McAffe seems to have only 'Exit'meaning I have to reload the whole programme again when I only want to disable it for a little while. How do you disable McAffe temporarily???? |

| 33685 | 2002-01-31 05:52:00 | Steve Exit doesn't remove your McAfee, it just closes it and you can reopen it like any other program in a matter of seconds. However, you don't say what these advanced disk checks you want to do are exactly, but if they are similar to scandisk or defrag they might be better performed in safe mode so why not try that.
