33635 2002-01-30 22:00:00 Hi,

We have just upgraded to Windows 2000 from Win98 and my boss has a problem with the way Windows Explorer displays files in detail view. He wants to be able to view the folders at the top of the window and then have the files listed underneath in date order, BUT he wants the newest files to be at the top, whereas the way Windows does it, the oldest files are at the top. He insists that this was the way it was in Win98, and it is so annoyig to him that he is going to insist on going back to Win98 unless I can find a solution quickly. We have tried Powerdesk but it crashes, and I have spent hours scouring the web for some answer, hoping to find it was just a registry entry that needs changed, but with no success. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Shane, can't you just click on the column again and it will reverse the sort order? Or am I missing someting?

33637 2002-01-30 23:26:00 Hi Robo,

Thanks for responding. You are correct - you can just click the column again and it brings the latest files to the top, but it moves the folders to the bottom. I think this is a a bloody petty issue as do other IT support staff I have asked, but an extra mouse click is a big deal to my boss. However, I work on the principle that if my customer has a problem, then regardless of what I think of it, I do my best to find a solution that works the way they want it to.
