| 33572 | 2002-01-30 10:19:00 | Since connecting to the Internet and downloading various media plug-ins, I am unable to play 'Grim Fandango'. It loads OK, but when I want to start it I get this error message 'PLease make sure you are not running any other DirectX apps that take exclusive control of your hardware.' I'm not that I know of. Is there an easy solution to this? |

Then see what apps are and arn't running. Then end the ones you don't wont running. That might give you an idea of what's creating the problem, or provide a solution to the problem each time you try to access the file. Also one more question. Dose it only do it with this one file? |

| 33575 | 2002-01-31 06:06:00 | Hi Anne, There are 2 'ptsnoop' possibilities. 1: Ptsnoop is a small program that is distributed with some modems to test the serial ports of your PC. I doubt very much that it's this program. 2: Ptsnoop is also the name of a Trojan Horse program that attempts to connect to a website on the internet without your consent. It's purpose is probably to scan your hard drive and send its author details of your passwords, bank details (if you do online banking...) or other stuff that should be kept confidential. The reason rnaapp is running is because the Trojan Horse is dialling out and connecting to the net. You can turn off rnaapp quite safely by following the directions in the previous posts. Upgrade your anti-virus as soon as you're able and follow its directions to remove the program and the virus that placed it on your system. Andy. |
