| 33920 | 2002-02-01 09:57:00 | Looking at getting an external modem, I know that you all recommend the US Robotics ones. But at www.ascent.co.nz I see there are a couple of different ones, a Courier for $630 (mmm too much), Sportster $280, and a Sortster message $333. From what I can tell the only difference between the Sportster and the Sportster Message, is that the Message has voice support added. So my question is, whether or not the voice is worth the extra $50. Cheers JM |

| 33921 | 2002-02-01 20:07:00 | Silly question realy. Do you need voice support? If you don't, it's not worth anything. I have been using a USR internal ISA modem with everything for the past couple of years.Have never even tried the voice part of it, but everything else has worked flawlessly. I love it.The Courier is no better for home use. It's advantage, and price, will only give you anything if you are doing multiple postings continuously. Jack. |
