33871 2002-02-01 05:17:00 Hi,

I've only once pulled this off, and it was with a very detailed readme... Can someone give me a detailed set of foolproof instructions on how to do this please...?

Thanks very much!

33872 2002-02-01 05:59:00 Is your tar.gz or .tgz file a driver?

I too need to know how this is done. I've looked at the readme and the instructions are as follows:

tar -xzf driver-version.tar.gz

cd driver-version

make install

driverconfig

or an alternative rpm -ta driver-version.tar.gz

but I don't get any of this and I just would prefer a simple installation with very detailed information and maybe a little summary of what's going on so I can understand it better.

33873 2002-02-01 06:09:00 Hi Krazee,

Looks like you're doing ok here...

I've got this so far:

.tgz is a .tar.gz file that has already had something done to it. I think this process is that of gunzipping (which I think can be done with the command

gunzip 'name of file'

)

A .tgz file can then be installed by the command:

tar -xvf 'name of file'

note that the name of the file is no longer what it was, it's changed ffrom .tar.ga to .tgz.

all of this is 'I think' material, but give it a go... I think I may have just managed to install AGSatellite for linux (w/ glibc)... I now have a directory called AGSatellite0520 Inside it is AGSAtellite.exe.

I managed all that with the gunzip and tarxvf commands.

However, I think now is when we need someone like Graham to come in and tell me how to solve the next bit...

When I run the .exe it says :

[erin@localhost AGSatellite0520]$ ./AGSatellite
Files scanned: 0 NewFiles: 0
www.audiogalaxy.com to login
Invalid account, please edit/create shares.txt and account.txt

Now, what needs to go in the shares.txt and the account.txt files?

I know my username and password from hainv it on windows, but I've no idea how to lay it out, I presume it needs this info?

As for the Shares.txt, that obviously tells the server where I stash my MP3's, I know that also, but again, how to lay it out...

Graham? Any ideas?

Thanks

Erin

Opps,
