33844	2002-02-01 04:10:00	First of all I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to my learning experience for Red Hat I have mostly from this site and am still wanting a Linux Forum because the search Utility doesn't produce the wanted questions. If you think I'm throwing it in the sea, forget it, I'm not done yet I am going to tackle it if it's the last thing I do. So here it is. After installations of installations I keep coming back with the same error message which this time I took down but I believe is the cause for other unknown problems. This was when using Control Centre. Short Description The application KDE Control Centre (kcontrol) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV). What is this? An application mostly receives the SIGSEGV signal due to a bug in the application. The application was asked to save it's documents. Also when I try bringing up the terminal it pops up and closes with no error messages or anything. Possible causes in my case is that I reconnected my Zip100 drive to the LPT port which wasn't connected when red hat was working a little bit better. Altering the /etc/fstab and the fstab.revoke Opening up the terminal when it was working and typing 'reboot' I use to logoff before and click on shutdown to do this because there was no shutdown or reboot in the menu. But now I find it easier just opening up terminal and typing reboot. Also everything is done in root as somethings I couldn't quite do in a terminal without GUI help. Still need to learn how to edit files without going to file manager and opening them with a text editor. I don't know if I'll ever tackle this problem with this computer but I'm considering buying a single processor PC.	Guest (0)
