| 34179 | 2002-02-03 12:52:00 | Hi ya all. Running WinMe and need to access my dos device drivers in config.sys, but am unsure where it is or how to get in there. Simple I know, but any help from you dos guys much appreciated. Cheers. |

| 34180 | 2002-02-04 00:09:00 | There probably isn't a config.sys file on your hard disk. Make the emergency recovery disk, and have a look at the config.sys on that. Use notepad to edit/make a CONFIG.SYS. It MUST be a plain text file. So must autoexec.bat if you want to make one of them too. Your public library will probably have a few books about DOS (the Dummies or Idiots series are good ...). But basically, a line for a device driver is like 'DEVICE c:\where\thingy.sys ' with any options started with ' /'. Instructions with the hardware will probably give you the format and exact options. |
