34110 2002-02-03 03:19:00 Hi Y'All

My zFree connection seems to be harder to connect through and slower to run at the moment.

Could this be the end?

Doesn't bother me too much, because I've got a backup Paradise account that I can always increase the hours on.

I thought I'd better post this notification, because I remember someone was thinking about buying a zFree account.

Have other zFree users have noticed a decline?

Could be just my system.

34111 2002-02-03 03:33:00 Hi JC.

I'm a zfreea and I haven't noticed any difference. Might be the time of day when its busy perhaps.

Cheers.

34112 2002-02-03 04:17:00 Still find as good as it ever was. I also have Paradise but very seldom have to use it. Also have Clear which I just use for EMail - now that is Slooow.
Bye

34113 2002-02-03 05:43:00 Thats rather funny John I was thinking of posting a message to say how good I find it is at the moment. But it may be because I've dropped ZA and are now using Agnitum.

34114 2002-02-03 06:21:00 Hi JM and John, What a coincidence, I too dropped Zone Alarm and switched to Agritum and promptly experienced a dramatic increase in the reliability of connections and to a certain extent, speed.

I put it down to two things, firstly Outpost has built in Ad blockers which work very well and secondly Outpost has a built in DNS (server) and again time is saved as all the info required to make the connection is located right on my own computer.

But, I too do not think that Zfree has changed to any great extent, if at all.

34115 2002-02-03 06:51:00 My father uses zfree in wellington & has noticed download speed is not what it used to be & also he was saying there was an article in the dominion newspaper last week, The big wig was saying zfree will be phased out this year.
cheers Steve

34116 2002-02-03 07:17:00 Going like a rocket in Auckland, all day and all night, all holidays too.

50.6 or 52kbps every time.

34117 2002-02-03 07:46:00 Well, that's a consensus.

No problems with zFree generally. I'll need to look at my own system.

Thanks to all for your input.

34118 2002-02-03 12:45:00 Hi John, I just got to your post. I'm on ZFree and I've had constant problems, just in the last week, although up until then they've been brilliant. Now I'm getting dropped often enough to notice (still not *that* often) but more noticable is the periods of no traffic where I have to sit and wait for something to happen before a page will load.
