| 34073 | 2002-02-02 22:46:00 | I have recently installed a Card Reader to read Memory Sticks. Device manager reports reader installed Okay. Problem occurs after booting PC (cold or hot boot),I am unable to use Windows Explorer AT ALL until there is a Stick in the reader. Explorer hangs trying to find the Stick. Workaround seems to be to put in a stick, (Explorer works okay then) and then remove stick. Explorer continues to work okay until the next reboot when I have to put a stick in again and repeat the sequence. My understanding is that a reader is meant to sit silently in the background until a stick is put in. W2K SP2 installed. Reader plugged into USB. Any ideas on how to fix most welcome Thanks Sergio |
