34254 2002-02-04 05:19:00 I sent an email on Saturday morning to Paradise with some questions and still haven't received an answer from them. Do they want my custom or not? :-(

Can't wait for them any longer, so can someone here please tell me if their Paradise logon name, ie user name, is the same as their *main* email address?

Thanks!!

34256 2002-02-04 05:36:00 Hi Susan

I completed the web email form when I applied, and received a letter from them a few days later, with details of my email address which was the same as my new log-in account. They also supplied an initial password along with details of the phone numbers etc. I wanted to pay by auto payment so they included this form.

When they received my first payment they phoned me and we set up the settings over the phone.... they were very pleasant and a change from the Xtra helpdesk staff. I also set up 3 email aliases with no problems at all.

I'm sure their letter and/or phone call will arrive, in my experience they are worth waiting for, a more reliable connection and faster download speeds.

34257 2002-02-04 05:44:00 Paradise also provide the option to create, for free, up to five alises (as jester has mentioned) or additional mailboxes (separate mail account) for other members of the family. Guest (0)
34258 2002-02-04 06:46:00 Have you also looked at quicksilver??....I completed the online form and had my connection 15 minutes later. That impressed me and I know have quick dialup connection and good service and no disconnects....I leave the puter on overnight downloading and have had no problems whatsoever. $19.95 per month unlimited with 3 addresses and a web page too. 34259 2002-02-04 06:54:00 Sounds like paradise is on the way out, from what I gather with all the complaints I've seen in recent postings. Tuffies. Guest (0)
34260 2002-02-04 07:16:00 Hi Susan, I sent an email to join as Jester suggested, and got a letter back a couple of days later with all the details. Sent the direct debit form off and was called by one of their representatives two days later - pretty quick! Easy to get connected too, very thorough instructions. Apart from their little 'hiccup' this afternoon, no trouble so far. Good luck! Guest (0)
34261 2002-02-04 07:28:00 Thanks for all the replies. I haven't actually signed up yet, I just wanted to know about the logon name and email addresses (thanks for answering that one Kerry :-) )

Reason for that is because my current ISP logon is 'myname' and thus my webpage is also ...users/myname and I don't want that.

Dippy, Quicksilver sounds good, will have a look at them also. Can you tell me about their arrangement regarding the situation that I have just discussed?

34262 2002-02-04 11:46:00 Quicksilver sounds good. Had been looking at Paradise but they only allow 1MB of Email where as Quicksilver allows 10MB Guest (0)
34263 2002-02-04 12:17:00 Changed from xtra to quicksilver about a month ago and no problems yet. And when you ring the help desk the helpers are actually capable of helping. Amazing!!

And you get 10mb web space.

But I don't want all you lot changing over 'cause then they'll go the same way as all the other ISP's that start out well and end up shafting everyone, so stay where you are and leave my good connection alone.

Unless of course you give them my login and then I'll get a credit on my next a/c

:-)
