| 34306 | 2002-02-07 01:32:00 | How many pin positions are in the plug? (some pins are missing, because the position is not used). If it has one row of 5 and one of 4, it won't work on a modern PC. It is a Mono, or CGA. If it has one row of 8 and one of 7, it is a Macintosh monitor, and won't work on a PC. If it has 3 rows, giving 15 pin positions, it is a VGA or SVGA. If there are not three pins in the 1,2,3 positions (only one at position 2) it is a monochrome VGA or SVGA. It could be a modern Mac with that plug, but I *think* they are compatible with PCs. Try it at 640X480 resolution first. What make and model? |
