| 34546 | 2002-02-06 02:25:00 | Hi, I have searched for Win98SE bootdisk and downloaded some. They were in self-extracting exe files. I extracted them to A: and tested the floppy out and it came back with invalid disk replace media message. Is there a way I am suppose to write it to floppy? I am running Win2k/XP but I need a Win98 bootdisk. All the basic files to make a bootdisk are there io.sys, msdos.sys, command.com, etc... but still doesn't work. If there's no fix to this could someone redirect me to a site that has a Win98SE bootdisk that does work for them. |

I am running Win2k/XP. Is it possible to make a bootdisk from the CD? The reason is that I want to install Win98 on a computer that can't boot from CD due to a bios limitation. Too old I guess and can't find a bios update and Compaq doesn't have my model anywhere on their site. I know the bios is intel's but tracking down an update for it is to much of a mission. |
