Have installed office xp on computer running win 98. Everything works fine except word xp.You can only type about 3 words and then the computer locks up and has to be rebooted.Can anybody advise on what might be the trouble? Many thanks . |

I presume when u reinstalled that you totally uninstalled it first not just over the top ? Over the top will usually not help as if the registry entry is corrupt you need to uninstall.. reboot... delete the old directory if it was left behind, then insall fresh. Also try running scandisk and fix any errors on your drive and also search your hard drive for all files ending in *.tmp and delete them all... (tempory files. ) |
