| 34576 | 2002-02-06 03:51:00 | Against my better judgement, and based on PCW's suggestion to upgrade if MS98 was causing frequent crashes (was it ever), I upgraded a couple of months ago to Windows XP. The world hasn't fallen in but one problem is that the 'availability' of the Search function is unpredicatble. I re-installed XP once already after being told that 'a file needed' for Search was not available and that I would have to go to setup. Fixed it! This morning, same problem, but now its fine, with no re-install. What's going on? (Machine is a PIII 1000 with 256 mg RAM and plenty of space on a big c drive. |
