34573 2002-02-06 02:06:00 I recently had to do a full recovery and am now unable to get Live updates.
The error message states the need to re-install such but despite numerous attempts to do so, using various formats as I go through the installer I remain unsucessfull. Tech support is inhuman, playing music for more than 45 mins on atleast 3 attempts and on-line support a maze of dead ends to the uniniated. No help there. Any suggestions please

34574 2002-02-06 02:58:00 generaly speaking uninstall nortons, find all the files it leaves behind exspecialy the liveupdate ones. then use a regcleaner to remove all nortons entries from registry. that should get you back to square one. reinstall and you should be ok.

not 100% sure (what os?) but look in C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\Symantec, C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Symantec

34575 2002-02-06 03:10:00 Hi tweak'e

Just as an aside, I am thinking of doing as you suggest.... do I need to have the Nortons CD.... my computer came preinstalled with Nortons 2001, and I didn't get a CD with it.

Regards, ALAN :-)
