34893 2002-02-08 05:21:00 how can i get rid of the entries in the pop down box on the google website that comes up when you type search strings in?

I have tried deleting temp net files via internet options, and also deleting the contents of my windowns\cookies folder....

Cheers

34894 2002-02-08 06:05:00 Hi Neil, sounds like you are talking about the Google tool bar. Just click on the Google sign to the left of the box & choose 'clear search history' in the dropdown. Guest (0)
34895 2002-02-08 07:07:00 If you are like me and your google page hasn't got the google sign that the previous posting talks about...this is how I cleared previous searches....when I go to type a new search query in...a list of previous ones appears....as I scroll down the list I just click the delete key for each one....and voila....gone.....hope this helps...or is it clear as mud ...lol.... 34896 2002-02-08 09:33:00 Neil,

Pam F has the right idea.

Right-click on the search drop-down and choose 'select all'.

Right-click again and choose 'Delete'.

That's it. :-)

34897 2002-02-08 10:09:00 Sorry Neil. I put you wrong.

The suggestion I made before only affects the item in the search field, not the following list.

Try this...
To clear the search history, inside Internet Explorer:

1. Click the Tools menu.
2. Click Internet Options.
3. On the Content tab, click AutoComplete.
4. Click Clear Forms.

Also, you can permanently disable this feature for all Web sites using
the check boxes above.

Let us know how you get on.

:-)
