The makers of the Morpheus download program have refuted the claim that there is a security hole in their software as reported a couple of days ago. The report stated that there was a security hole that could allow a hacker to share any file on your hard drive. According to MusicCity Networks, the security expert that supposedly uncovered the hole has never contacted StreamCast, and numerous postings have been made to other websites and such from people claiming to work for StreamCast spreading further rumours about the supposed insecurity of Morpheus. Microsoft have a new file format for audio. It's called WMA (Windows Media Audio) and it allows you to have files that are smaller in size than MP3, but with better sound quality. here's more on the new format:
With the help of WMA Encoder Decoder the conversion into WMA format and decoding WMA becomes as easy as 'one-two-three'. User-friendly interface, multilingual support, digitizing an Audio CD directly into WMA format using a 'noise click removal' technology and batch conversion mode make this product to be a leader amongst the series of audio converters supporting WMA format.
Multilingual At the moment WMA Encoder Decoder supports 9 languages. These are English, Danish, Dutch, French, Chinese, Czech, Hungarian, Italian, German, Russian and Ukrainian. Windows Media 8 WMA 8 encoder improve quality of encoded audio of 30 to 50 percent over WMA 7. AudioCD rip mode You can use the Audio CD digitizing mode for saving music tracks into WMA format.

A new version of the RivaTuner (Version 2.0 RC10) is out. The new version sports the following:
- Full Detonator 27.xx support.
- Added databases for the Detonators 23.11, 27.00, 27.10 and 27.20 for both Windows 9x and Windows 2000/ XP.
- SoftQuadro scripts are no longer supported and will not work with the Detonator 27.xx. The reason is that NVIDIA has implemented SoftQuadro protection again and I do tired of endless protection/antiprotection chase and it eats a lot of my time. Probably I'll bring you SoftQuadro 2.0 scripts once againg, but now I'm concentrated on adding ATI Radeon 8500 support to RivaTuner and it is the primary task in my plan for today.
- Added fake DDR problem workaround for GeForce4 MX boards (thanks to Hilbert Hagedoorn for testing RivaTuner with GeForce4 MX 420). It is pity, but this problem (double displayed memory clock frequency), which is widely spead on GeForce2 MX with 4Mx16 memory modules, also appears on GeForce4 MX boards. To address this issue RivaTuner just halves displayed memory clock frequency on GeForce4 MX boards when SDR memory is detected and the MPLL coefficients are programmed to 300MHz or above.
- Added GeForce4 support to the built-in 60Hz refresh rate fix for Windows2000/XP.
- Added support for 27MHz reference frequency to the low level hardware overclocking module. This allows RivaTuner's low level overclocking module to work with GeForce4 boards (thanks to Andrew Worobyew for testing RivaTuner with GeForce4 Ti 4400).
