| 34830 | 2002-02-07 21:58:00 | I'm running win 98, and lately, it hangs when I click 'apply' or 'ok' the dialogue siezes up! It doesn't crash windows, just the window i'm using. It happens in microsoft programs, and happens when i'm changing settings, (such as internet explorer preferences, folder options, installing/uninstalling drivers) - this problem disappears in safe mode. It doesn't happen to non-microsoft programs.... EH???? | Guest (0) | ||

Restart the computer and one by one, re-install each app and test it before restarting and re-installing the next app, etc. That will isolate the offending Microsoft program that's causing you problems. Once you know which app is faulty, go to the knowledge base entry for that program at Microsoft's website, www.microsoft.com, for a fix. The symptoms you describe suggest that a shared file, probably a .DLL, is responsible for your headaches. Good luck. :-) |
