The Telephone cable goes between the Modem and the phone jack on the wall. Usually a 6 core cable which has a BT plug in the wall socket end and a RJ45 or similar plug on the modem end. Required both internal and external modems. jt jt |

| 34828 | 2002-02-07 23:55:00 | During my old days on the helpdesk of an ISP a problem could often be impossible to diagnose, but sometimes getting them to swap a phone cable to a proper modem cable worked wonders! | Guest (0) | ||
| 34829 | 2002-02-08 00:16:00 | My experience is that some phonecables are wired 2&5 with a BT plug and that others (reverse wired!) are 5&2. I think a trip to the warehouse will demo this, I am in UK now and needed a reverse wired plug..... however I don't regard this as a modem cable, I think that is dealt with above for an external modem?? cheers | Guest (0) | ||
