| 34799 | 2002-02-07 09:40:00 | When doing system maintenance using 'Disk Cleanup' & 'Delete Files' in Internet Options I find that some files are still remaining in the Folder - How come?? Also, what is the purpose of the folder c:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files This is currently 3.38 MB in size - is that 'normal' ? cheers Dez |

| 34800 | 2002-02-07 10:23:00 | (1) When ever you go to a web site a 'cookie' is created. This file tracks what you veiw at the site for future reference when you return to the site. Cookies don't tend to get deleted when you do a clean up, though you can manually delete them. (2) Whenever you visit a site the page is downloaded onto your computer so that you can veiw it. All the images/text etc from that page are put into the temporary internet directory. You can set the limit of the size of this folder by 'Internet Options' under tools on IE (look for settings on the general tab). 3mb is not excessive. Set the limit to something like 40mb if you're not lacking space on your hard drive. |

If you try the app make a copy of your History folder first - I have used the prog twice and it appeared to clean out the this folder both times. It shouldn't! | Guest (0) | ||
