| 1290208 | 2012-07-23 09:08:00 | Have a Dell 2.4 GHz, 1 GB Ram 80 GB HD Which i no longer use. Just for fun I would like to set it up as a server. Have looked on the net and see that there are plenty of free server programs available. Any recommendations with considerations to ease of set up and use? |

| 1290215 | 2012-07-24 00:21:00 | Thanks Sol. confirms what I thought when I read about setting it up. Seems a bit to complex for me. Looking at Debian. I might be wrong but I think it is similar to Ubantu but easier to set up. | Colpol (444) | ||
| 1290216 | 2012-07-24 02:27:00 | Freenas (www.freenas.org) would be great on that machine. All you need is a 4GB USB Flash drive for the OS and the 1TB can be storage and use the rock solid ZFS file system | tmrafi (5179) | ||
| 1290217 | 2012-07-24 05:47:00 | Amahi (www.amahi.org) I'm using Amahi, works well, is free, runs headless, was even relativity easy to set up. But I can't get the vpn to work | gary67 (56) | ||
