Cannabis, cash, drug paraphernalia, and a vending machine were among the items seized when Police arrested four persons for drug related offences in West Auckland late yesterday. Waitakere Police went to an address in Delta Avenue, New Lynn, at about 6.30pm yesterday Thursday 22 March 2012.

On arrival at the Daktory, police observed a number of offences against the Misuse of Drugs Act being committed. There were about 20 people at the address. A search of the premises was immediately carried out. A backpack was located upstairs with more than $27,000 in cash. Half a kilo or pre packaged cannabis was also found.

A large assortment of utensils, bongs, pipes, spotting knives and loose cannabis was seized. More than 200 grams of cannabis in a large Tupperware container was located in a freezer at the property. A vending machine was located at the address and seized.

Three males and a female have been arrested and charged with various drug related offences. These include possession of cannabis, possession for supply, permits premises to be used, and possession of drug related utensils.
The four arrested have received conditional bail and will appear in the Waitakere District Court on Wednesday.

Detective Inspector Bruce Scott, Manager – Criminal Investigations, Waitematä Police District, says whenever and wherever there is drug offending of any kind, police will act swiftly. We certainly do not take a softly softly approach.

“These seizures will have a significant impact on local cannabis consumers for some time. We will continue to monitor and manage the activities of the Daktory for further offending,” Detective Inspector Scott said.
