1266114 2012-03-21 02:52:00 I won a 10M rca composite cable on trademe, and they sent me a 10M Cat6 ethernet cable. I have contacted the seller, and am awaiting a reply. Anyone else had this experience?, this is the first time this has happened. goodiesguy (15316)
1266115 2012-03-21 03:05:00 Yup, brought some rear lights for the back of my chrysler voyager as the old ones had cracks and repairs that wouldnt get a warrant. seller sent the wrong ones for a different model, they wouldnt fit. sent them back and he resent the right ones. Then....went to fit the plug and play lights, wtf had to rewire the whole lot took about 1 week. By then my 28 days! (not 30 like i thought) had expired and had to go though the whole warrant again.
He should contact you and you can send them back and get the right ones.

1266116 2012-03-22 01:40:00 The correct 10m RCA composite cord was sent today. I asked about sending the wrong cable back, and they said it's not worth the time or effort to post it back up again etc.. The seller told me to keep it.

So, what the hell can I do with a 10 Meter CAT6 Network Ethernet cable?

1266117 2012-03-22 01:50:00 Run it out to the sleepout, I wired my entire house using old patch cables I collected from building sites, much better than wireless as the wireless doesn't penetrate some of the downstairs concrete walls gary67 (56)

We don't have a sleep out :(.

I might be able to rig it through to my room if it's long enough, as my room is next to our Lounge, but i'm not counting on that. But it would probably lower my ping on games, instead of using my wireless reciever stick.

1266119 2012-03-22 02:32:00 A wired connection will give better and more consistent connections than wireless, as theres nothing to stop the data transfer. wainuitech (129)
1266120 2012-03-22 09:32:00 That's what one of my mates thought in the boarding house, I run the servers off a wireless connection because its better than running CAT down the halls. He is next door to me and decided cable was worth it. I installed a "lag switch" and had great amusement at his rage quits.

Rats also stop data transfers, as I found when I couldn;'t be bothered putting the cable in conduit.

1266122 2012-03-22 09:46:00 Wired is still used a lot more than wireless and far more reliable when set up correctly.

I have 4 Cat5 cables running to the workshop from the office in conduit, buried approx 2ft down. Wireless would be completely useless, the signal wouldn't get from the workshop to inside the house.

I tried to use wireless on the media center once, the signal only had to go across the room 3-4 mtrs - It was wired from the Workshop to lounge, then a access point to media center, but the lag when playing videos was huge, stop/start/stop/start-- run a cat5 cable under the floor and its absolutely perfect, no lag from the workshop to lounge or any other room in the place at all, and thats feeding several computers at the same time.

Wireless is all good and well when its working, but what do you need when it turns turtle-- Oh!!! a wired connection to routers to fix it. ;)

Re Ians post --- 10mtr cables, cheap as --- hell I give them away if doing a setup.

1266123 2012-03-22 09:47:00 It will run from the router to my comp, but I would have to run it under the house, which would be pulling up a wee bit of carpet and drilling a hole to feed it through in both rooms, and i've already bothered my dad by helping me run a 10m av cable through the wall to my room so i can watch Crime ivestigation channel at nite (dog chewed old one, which just ran from the door). I'm probably better with my wifi for now. Although if I ever move my pc closer to my side window, i can probably run the cable across the 2 windows (lounge side window and my side window are beside each other). goodiesguy (15316)
