They deserved everything they got, especially for their treatment of POWs in Thailand , Burma and other places. From my perspective Berlin should also have got an A-bomb. Dunno, history is written by the winners, seen a few docos on it, they were losing already, yes they were persistent, but as to whether it was necessary to drop 2 on the cities is another thing. Still history is history and no-one will know now. And it's pretty sickening really, humans penchant for mistreating each other and the justifications they come with for it. While there would have been about the same number of casualties either way it was far preferable that it was the Japs that took the brunt of it with the two bombs especailly when you look at just how brutal they were and the fact that it was them that instigated it.	mikebartnz (21)
