| 1290284 | 2012-07-24 00:49:00 | I use Win 7 32 bit . All MS updates are installed except for he Bing Desktop which i don't wan. I start off my PC and for a while the Icons(Generally folders on the Desktop allow me o access the programs or shortcuts within. After a while (I haven';t found a set time) they freeze. Sometimes the original Icon picture emains on screen and at others they revert to the original bland plian brown folder icon. I then go to Windows Explorer and select Desktop . In there the original icon pictures display and I can click on them to execute the program I want within. I tried the HP Support (I have an HP610 laptop) program but it found no errors or updates needed. This seems to have started since I uninstalled NOD32 (under ESET guidance) and installed Avast anti virus. Avast seems to be working as expected. Any ideas as to the cause of the freezing desktop icons? Neil |
